   Well, you should make sure that they all use the litterbox before you let them out, that will help. They’ll catch on quickly, they’re smart. =) Also I’ve found it’s helpful to put an old T-shirt used for their bedding and a toy in whatever corner they’ve chosen as a potty. And, you might consider just putting another litterbox in that corner. And it helps to just keep an eye on them, and whenever they start ‘backing’, say ‘NO!” and put them immediately in their litterbox to finish.

   Carpet shark luver has it pretty well covered. There are some areas though that you will never break them from “using”. I got mine to quit using all the other corners, but they still insist on using the one by the door and I am guessing that it’s more of a marking thing than anything, because that is where all the “strange” smells enter their little weezil world. So I keep trying and while I do I put several layers of paper down. I get the classified ad papers that are laying around at gas stations, grocery stores and Walmart exits. They are free and there are a lot of them.
   Most ferrets won’t ever be 100% in this department and unlike cats they are not going to be trained forever, but will need frequent refresher courses.
